Charlaine Harris Talks Aurora Teagarden: “It’s going to be a process that’s going to be very different!”

Charlaine Harris recently spoke with Vulture on her new Hallmark movie based on her Aurora Teagarden books. After True Blood, which was based on her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries, Harris says that this project will be “very different”.

“I’ve read the script, and I met Candace, and she’s lovely,” says Charlaine. “It’s going to be a process that’s going to be very different! I think I’ve certainly learned that you have to be prepared and resigned to having plot points changed and characters changed. That’s just inevitable.”

Exciting news. The Aurora Teagarden books, my first mystery series, are being adapted for the Hallmark Channel as a series of two-hour movies. Candace Cameron Bure is attached. Couldn’t be a bigger contrast to HBO, right? I’m really looking forward to the process, and I’ll be posting when I know dates and the title of the series.
